Cloud Connect

PacketStream Cloud Connect

Cloud Connect is a connectivity service that links public cloud providers and a customer’s Colocation Rack over a dedicated line. It connects directly to each cloud provider’s PoP (Point of Presence) without going through the internet.

How It Works

A Cross Connect inside the data center forms the physical link, and VLANs and BGP peering build the logical path on top of it. Because traffic never crosses the public internet, latency and throughput stay consistent regardless of internet congestion. QoS sets traffic priority, and dual paths provide availability.

  • Physical: Cross Connect, dedicated BGP router, redundancy, 24-hour monitoring
  • Logical: VLAN separation, BGP peering with the cloud provider, dedicated IP allocation, access-control policy

Port Speeds

Available from 100Mbps to 10Gbps.

BandwidthUse CaseSuitable Workloads
100MbpsSmall-scale connectionDevelopment/testing, small-scale backup
1GbpsStandard connectionGeneral hybrid cloud
10GbpsHigh-performance connectionLarge-scale data migration, real-time analytics

Supported Clouds

  • AWS Direct Connect: Direct VPC connection, multi-region, BGP routing. Access to AWS services such as S3, EC2, and RDS.
  • Azure ExpressRoute: VNet connection, private peering over dedicated IPs, Microsoft 365 access.
  • Google Cloud Interconnect: VPC connection, Google global network, Cloud CDN.
  • Oracle FastConnect: OCI connection, Oracle databases and applications, on-premises Oracle integration, HPC workloads.

Security

A dedicated network path isolated from the public internet.

  • Dedicated path that third parties cannot reach
  • Encryption option for additional security
  • Permission-based access control
  • Logging of all data-transfer activity (audit trail)
  • Compliance support for finance, healthcare, and similar sectors

Use Cases

  • Hybrid cloud: Workload distribution, data synchronization, and disaster recovery between on-premises and cloud.
  • Cloud migration: Terabyte-scale data transfer, phased migration, real-time sync to minimize downtime.
  • Multi-cloud: Connect several clouds to avoid vendor lock-in and pick services per provider.
  • Enterprise applications: ERP such as SAP and Oracle, high-performance databases, big-data and AI/ML workloads.

Pricing

  • Port fee: Monthly fee by selected bandwidth
  • Data transfer: Billed on outbound transfer volume
  • Installation fee: Initial connection setup
  • Add-on services: Monitoring, technical support, and so on
