PacketStream Metro Connect
Metro Connect is an L2 dedicated-line service that links major data centers across Seoul and the metropolitan area. DWDM channel ports deliver up to 100Gbps per link, and it carries data center traffic independently of upper-layer protocols.
Connection Options
Choose one of two methods.
L2-based Metro-Connect
Connects data centers directly at Layer 2. VLAN tagging separates logical networks, so you can segment with multiple VLANs, and it does not touch upper-layer protocols. It interoperates with existing network equipment as-is.
DWDM-based Metro-Connect
DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) carries multiple channels over a single optical fiber, one independent channel per wavelength. Add channels to add bandwidth. Up to 100Gbps per link.
Redundancy
Ports come in UnProtected and Protected.
- UnProtected: Single path. Lower cost.
- Protected: Dual path. Fails over automatically when one path goes down.
Topology is either ring or dual. A ring routes around a failure in the opposite direction; a dual uses two independent paths for full redundancy.
