IP Transit

PacketStream IP Transit

IP Transit is an internet connectivity service specialized for South Korea. It peers directly with major ISPs, carries traffic over a self-operated WDM backbone, and offers bandwidth from 100Mbps to 100Gbps.

How It Works

Direct peering with major domestic ISPs keeps domestic traffic on short paths. The backbone is a WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) network that PacketStream owns and operates end to end across ICN01–ICN05, so traffic never crosses public networks.

  • Backbone: Self-operated WDM, expandable to hundreds of Gbps, redundant
  • Routing: BGP-4, dedicated AS number, per-customer routing policy, traffic engineering and filtering

Performance

  • Latency: Average within 5ms domestically
  • Availability: 99.9% or higher
  • Packet loss: Below 0.01%

Bandwidth Options

Scales from 100Mbps to 100Gbps.

BandwidthUse CaseSuitable Customers
100Mbps - 1GbpsSmall-scale servicesStartups, SMEs
1Gbps - 10GbpsMedium-scale servicesMid-size companies, growing businesses

  • Global carriers: CDN77, Telstra, PCCW, GSL Network, Macarne.
  • MSP/CP: MSP and CP connections and content acceleration through KINX-IX peering.

Traffic Analysis

SFlow analyzes traffic in real time. It provides traffic-pattern and usage reports and billing graphs, and detects DDoS by flagging abnormal traffic patterns.

Service Locations

  • KINX Gasan: Korea’s largest internet exchange point. Direct KINX-IX connection, 24-hour NOC.
  • KINX Dogok (planned): Gangnam area.
